

Dr. John Kao is a graduate of the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine with an Honours degree in Physiology. He completed one year of surgical internship at the Wellesley Hospital at the University of Toronto. Following this, he spent 5 years of speciality training in Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto. Dr. Kao has been practicing in his Markham clinic since 1998.
In addition, since 1998 Dr Kao has full-time privileges at Markham Stouffville Hospital as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, as well as active privileges at York Central Hospital, and Southlake Hospital.
He is an active member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Canadian Society of Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery. He has attended many courses and seminars in order to keep up to date on the latest and best technology and skills required for excellent results on his patients.
Susan McMillan, RN, is the Nursing Care Manager of the Markham Institute of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery. She will assist Dr Kao in the coordination of your surgery and will be involved closely in both the pre and postoperative steps of your procedure. It is Sue's goal to ensure your surgery is safe and comfortable and to help facilitate your recovery process.
Liz is your first point of contact with Markham Plastic Surgery Clinic. She will assist in coordinating your care, including booking your initial consultation with Dr. Kao. Liz has been working with Dr. Kao since his practice was first opened and shares his commitment to providing quality patient care.
